Is every SaaS Product an AI product today ?

The AI boom and the catching up SaaS Industry

The AI run is real and here are some businesses that are not merely surviving but thriving in the shifting paradigm.

I recently came across this surprising data that as of 2025, around 85% of the Saas companies have built at least one AI feature to keep up with the growing trend. Every product today is becoming an AI product, or at the very least, is marketed as such by integrating AI features into the product.

The most used AI features today fall under one of these categories and the use cases that they can resolve is enormousIf you are looking to innovate your product or solve a critical pain point, adopting one of these AI capabilities can enhance your product efficiency and also align with the AI trend in the market.

AI Features Transforming Everyday Processes

  • Real-time customer preferences personalize experiences, powering 10–15% of AI applications. SaaS giants like Amazon, Instagram, and Netflix use them for product and content suggestions.

  • Image / Text/ voice Recognition : It has become core to daily life, from Apple Photos search to Snapchat filters. Embedded across platforms like Google Lens, healthcare, security, and retail.

  • Generative AI : Integrated into tools like LinkedIn with feature like "re-write with AI", Canva, and many more places where we find features to re-write text or generate text, the LLMs are gaining widespread adoption through easy-to-integrate APIs and services.

  • AI Task Automation : Transforming productivity in ITSM, AIOps, and sales, with 50-60% of companies already using AI. Task automation boosts productivity by up to 40%, becoming essential for SaaS.

  • Natural Language Processing : Powers innovations like Alexa, Google Assistant, sentiment analysis, chatbots, and more, widely adopted across tech support, marketing, and customer experience.

  • Data Prediction & Detection : Used in weather forecasting, soil testing, and manufacturing, as well as for sales, market forecasting and many mmore data predictions. AI-driven fraud detection in fintech is rapidly growing for enhanced security.

Most AI features utilize a combination of capabilities to deliver powerful results. For example, a virtual assistant like Alexa uses NLP for understanding commands, speech recognition for processing voice input, and machine learning to improve responses over time. Similarly, autonomous vehicles combine computer vision for object detection, image recognition for interpreting surroundings, and predictive analytics for route optimization.

SaaS companies must quickly adopt AI to stay competitive, as products without AI are falling behind. As a Product Manager, the AI boom presents exciting opportunities to innovate and enhance user experiences.
